Falling Whistles
Falling Whistles is a small window into our worlds largest war. It is a campaign dedicated to achieving peace in Congo. I first found out about it through one of my friends who is very passionate about it. When I read the story on the website I couldn’t help but feel the same way. Abducted from their homes in Congo and too small to carry a gun, young boys are sent to the front lines of the fighting with only a whistle. They are told that the noise of their whistles combined will scare the enemy away. Of course this fails, and they are the first to die, serving as a temporary barricade of sorts.

there are too many ways to spell my name.
The annoying thing about my name is that there are way too many ways to spell it, so no one ever gets it right. My relatives all spell it differently, and rarely do any of them ever get it right. I’m tired of seeing my name spelled wrong. like really mom and dad, why couldnt you name me something with only one possible spelling? heres the proof there are too many..

yea well i skipped day 2, but i want to go back to that when im in a more creative mood. so anyway, Day 3- Write a letter to your past self, warning yourself of an upcoming event/situation.
Dear 8th grade self,
High school is amazing. It’s everything you’re hoping it will be and more. The friends you make are incredible and will completely change your life, and you’ll find an amazing boyfriend. Basically, you’re freshmen year will be pretty close to perfect. But nothing lasts forever, keep that in mind.

a letter to myself
dear me,
the truth hurts. you should know this by now, yet you continue to dig for the answers. why can’t you ever leave whats well enough alone? in away your only hurting yourself, and you know it. some things in life are best left unknown, but no, you alwaaays have to know the truth. the problem is you always come up with some perfect idea of what you want the truth to be. you imagine it and hope for it so much that eventually you convince yourself that it has to be the real truth, so you try to confirm it, and of course your always let down. why are you stupid enough to let the same thing happen over and over again? which is better, living in a wondering yet happy ignorance or finding out the usually painful truth? you always chose the truth though, and you will continue to chose the truth even though you know the next answer could possibly break your heart. why do you do this to yourself?
